Ocracoke student visit

Great day in Beaufort hosting about 75 students from Ocracoke!

The visit was a day trip to the town organized by regional officials to give the kids a reprieve from the lingering effects of Hurricane Dorian. Their stop at the museum included a weapons demonstration by Exhibits Curator Mike Carraway (with an assist by Exhibits Designer Jamee Rose); a chocolate chip cookie excavation led by Conservator Michelle Crepeaux to showcase how artifacts are recovered (& no we don’t typically eat artifacts); and a gallery tour led by Collections Manager Lynn Anderson.

Hope the groups had fun, ’cause we sure did!
