Half Model Class
February 26 - February 27$108 – $120
Learn how to read a set of plans and use the basic woodworking tools most commonly found in a boatbuilder’s tool kit to shape a lift half-model of a North Carolina Shad Boat during this two-day course at the North Carolina Maritime Museum’s Harvey W. Smith Watercraft Center. The models are built following a step-by-step procedure and are then taken home to apply a finish. Class is held from 9:30 to 4:30 p.m. each day. Course fee is $120 ($108 for Friends of the Museum). Course size is limited, and advance registration is required. Register below or by phone at 252-504-7758.
Registration and Refund Policy:
Registration costs, less a 10% fee, are refunded when the Museum receives cancellation notice at least two weeks before the start of a program. There is no refund within two weeks of the start of a program. The Museum reserves the right to cancel any program that does not meet the minimum participant requirement up to one week before the program is scheduled. In the event of cancellation due to low enrollment, participants who have submitted a fee will receive a full refund. If a program is canceled due to inclement weather and unable to be rescheduled for another date, the participants will receive a full refund.
